Casting brief

Candidates is an improvised psychological thriller set entirely inside a mysterious warehouse. Three strangers are invited to what they believe is an exclusive job interview, but quickly discover they have become participants in a dangerous psychological experiment. As trust breaks down and the rules become increasingly terrifying, each candidate must decide whether to cooperate, betray, or survive at any cost.

Roles casting

Alex

Requirements: 30s to early 40s

Former military or intelligence background. Calm, observant and highly disciplined. Alex naturally takes control under pressure but struggles to trust others. Looking for an actor with strong dramatic presence who can communicate tension through subtle performance rather than dialogue. Improvisation experience is highly desirable.

Blair

Requirements: late 20s to 30s

Charismatic, witty and socially intelligent. Blair uses humour and charm to hide growing fear and uncertainty, but gradually unravels as the situation escalates. Requires excellent improvisation skills and the ability to move naturally between comedy, suspense and emotional vulnerability.

Casey

Requirements: late 20s to 30s

Friendly, cooperative and seemingly harmless, though there is always something subtly unsettling beneath the surface. Casey carries the film's biggest secret and undergoes a major transformation. Seeking an actor capable of delivering a layered, psychologically complex performance with excellent emotional control.

Interview System (VO)

Requirements: ageless synthetic voice

Voice-only role. The calm, emotionless artificial intelligence controlling the interview. The voice should feel neutral, precise and unsettling without becoming robotic or exaggerated. Professional voice-over experience is preferred.

Special notes

This is an improvised psychological thriller. Actors should be comfortable working from character objectives rather than fixed dialogue. Previous improvisation experience is preferred but not essential.
