Official San Roku Ku YouTube channel

Your film deserves an audience beyond its first screening.

We are looking for completed independent films, documentaries and series to consider for release on our growing official YouTube channel. If your work is a strong fit, we will discuss rights, presentation and release terms with you directly.

There is no fee to submit. Selection is not guaranteed.

Why submit

A considered release, not just another upload

Our channel is growing around independent storytelling. Selected titles are reviewed as part of a curated catalogue and discussed with the filmmaker before any release agreement.

01

A growing film audience

Put your completed work in front of viewers actively discovering independent films on our official channel.

02

Curated presentation

Selected films sit within a focused catalogue rather than being uploaded without context or positioning.

03

Clear terms before release

Rights, territories, availability, materials and any commercial terms are discussed before publication.

Before you submit

Is your project a fit?

We focus on completed, professionally presented work where the submitting filmmaker or producer can clearly authorise distribution.

What We Are Looking For

  • Feature films of 80 minutes or longer
  • Works in English or Japanese
  • Documentaries of 40 minutes or longer
  • TV or web series with episodes of 20 minutes or longer

What We Cannot Accept

  • Short films
  • Works in languages other than English or Japanese
  • Films already widely released or sold in major territories
  • Screenplays or project pitches without a completed film

Our standard distribution terms

Non-exclusive YouTube distribution, with the filmmaker retaining control

Our standard arrangement is non-exclusive, with 80% of net YouTube revenue paid to the filmmaker and 20% retained by San Roku Ku, unless different terms are expressly agreed in writing. Submission is only for editorial consideration and does not grant us distribution rights. If your film is selected, publication begins only after you authorise distribution and we confirm the arrangement in writing.

80 / 20

Revenue in the filmmaker's favour

The filmmaker receives 80% of net YouTube revenue attributable to the film. San Roku Ku retains 20%. Net revenue means amounts actually received after YouTube or other applicable deductions, claims, refunds, taxes and rights-clearance adjustments.

Worldwide

Non-exclusive rights

You may continue distributing, licensing, selling or screening your film anywhere else worldwide. Our YouTube distribution is non-exclusive unless a different arrangement is expressly agreed in writing.

3 months

Removal notice

You may end distribution by giving us three months' written notice. We will remove the film from our channel by the end of that notice period, subject to legal, platform and technical requirements.

You must own or control all rights needed for the film, including footage, music, performances, artwork and other incorporated material. We make limited good-faith checks, but these are not legal clearance. The filmmaker remains responsible for permissions and for claims or disputes caused by the submitted film or materials. Full details are set out in our Terms and Conditions and any written distribution confirmation.
